LIFT is an installation technique utilized in retail and open-office environments. Rather than removing and reinstalling shelves and work stations, electrical cables and communication lines, which can become cost-prohibitive, we lift shelves and work stations and office equipment out of the way, remove the old carpet, and install the new flooring.

LIFT work is typically performed at off hours so the client's business is not interrupted, meaning there is little to no downtime for the business. This is an important aspect of LIFT, because by eliminating downtime for a business, the client is able to keep running at full speed. This also means the client avoids the cost associated with downtime, which can often be greater than the cost of the new floor. We simply work around the client's schedule.

Retail and Library LIFT - How It Works

With the patented Starnet® LIFTMAN® system, Wall 2 Wall can lift and move library shelving and replace the floor without removing the books from the shelves! Using the same system, Wall 2 Wall Floorcoverings can lift and move retail gondolas and replace the floor without removing the merchandise from the gondolas! In both cases the shelves are lifted with their contents left intact, and simply rolled out of the way. After the new flooring is installed the shelves are wheeled back and lowered into place, causing little to no disruption to the client.

Office LIFT - How It Works

Wall 2 Wall Floorcoverings routinely performs LIFT installations and has been doing so for over 14 years. Our trained installers lift modular workstations off the ground and work underneath the furniture, leaving the equipment in place and undamaged. Once the old material is removed and the new carpet tile is installed, the office systems are simply lowered into the same places, ready for work in the morning.
